The Mayan's calendar ends with the year of 2012, and the world is said to be doomed to annihilation. Mass hysteria spreads among the superstitious, while the realists and religious of the world turn up their chins and cast this off as foolishness; after all, some believe that the Mayan's simply died out due to some realistic cause before they could finish while others, the religious ones, believe in what their Gods say and their Gods promised never to destroy the planet.
January 13th 2012 arrives, and with it a massive army from within the planet herself. Beasts from beyond human imagination emerge from the darkest corners of the planet and launch an attack to annihilate the peoples of earth. They take on many forms, from humans to animals, to things never thought of before. They are strong and have become smarter with time, able to speak in human tongues and use human weaponry.
Not that they need to.
Many of them, these things, come with their own weapons and powers in tow and devastatingly crushing humans with the flick of their wrists. Many believe that they are the cause of all the great disasters of the past. The extinction of the dinosaurs, The Great Flood, Babylon, and even the sea of blood, are now speculated to have been caused by them, the Legion, named after the devils in Christian Bibles.
Religious figures and crypto zoologists have shared the belief that they were here on this planet first but somehow, when we came to be, they retreated into the depths seemingly only showing themselves in so many years to wipe out the populations. Religious nuts, scientific freaks, historic fanatics, they all have their own beliefs for why they are here. But that doesn’t matter; man needs them gone.
Enter the Vindicators.
Military might only does so much, for so long, before men become tired and can no longer fight the fiends of nightmares. The entire world begs its leaders and Gods for a solution. The solution comes in the form of a new type of weapon being created by several of the world’s greatest minds collaborated. This new creation is known as a XERO; semi-artificially created living weapons. These creatures are nothing more then Legion who have lost their bodies in a fight long ago and desire to take revenge against their more brutal bretheren. With the help of special humans called Beschützers and the XERO that have dedicated their lives and powers, the fight to end hell on earth goes on.
Will you join in the fight to save the world as a Beschützer and XERO, or will you join the Legion and help bring mankind to an end?
