Name: Damaris Maebh O'Connell
Age: 183
Species: Lycan - True Wolf
Description/Appearance: Damaris stands at around 5'8" in height, is slim in build and is well toned. She has mid-length, curly red-brown hair, usually worn loose, bright green eyes and fair skin. She has no tattoos but has a large white scar that runs down her left forearm.
She favours earthy tones to her clothes and often wears a lot of green and brown. She can usually be seen in a brown leather bike jacket, never wears heels and tends to alternate between trainers and leather boots. She wears a slim silver band around her neck, with a red stone in the centre of the paw-shaped pendant.
Alternative Forms: Damaris's wolf form is that of a large timber wolf with a sandy-brown coat.
Weapons: Damaris carries a pair of Butterfly knives and a Magnum pistol most of the time, just in case. She's also a good shot with both longbows and crossbows and has been trained in several forms of swordfighting including fencing and longsword.
Skills: Damaris is exceptionally good at reading people and picking up on behaviour patterns, meaning she can often guess an enemies next move or prevent a fight from breaking out. She has excellent knowledge of wilderness survival and can kill, skin and gut anything from a rabbit to a bear using only a pocket-knife.
She can drive, although prefers not to, and is semi-fluent in several languages.
Special/Racial abilities: A small ability in telepathy, mostly making herself heard as opposed to reading the thoughts of others.
Personality: Damaris is a solid woman with little tolerance for fools. She is stubborn and sometimes rude, but deep down she's a warm, caring person with a strong maternal streak and a desire to protect those weaker than her. She likes animals and music and dislikes loud and stupid people or cowards.
History: Damaris was born in Ireland in the middle of the 19th Century. Her parents, though both True Wolves themselves, didn't belong to a Pack and so had little contact with other Lycans. As such, Damaris grew up accepting that other people couldn't do the things she could. Her family owned a large estate consisting of around 2 acres of land, much of it forest, and she spent much of her time there with her father, learning the survival skills that would serve her well later on.
During both World Wars, the O'Connell family had evacuees from the cities stay with them, and it was in this way that Damaris was introduced to the idea that there were not only other Lycans, but a whole supernatural world that she didn't know about - not one of the children her parents took in were human, but most weren't Lycans either.
After the last War, Damaris's parents disappeared. She came home one night to find the house ransacked and on fire and every occupant missing, including the staff. Faced with such obvious danger, Damaris fled for her life, fearing that the destruction was a result of some malicious attack by humans who had found out what the family truly were. She found out later that her suspicions were right.
She has not been back to Ireland since the night she found her home in flames, although she still has a fairly strong accent. She wandered the world for a few years before settling in Shadowford Cove, somewhere she can feel safe from the prejudice that killed her parents.
