The sun was out sending heat and light down to the people walking, eating, playing, and doing other things in the park. The smell of the area was amazing, it was a clean smell, one that Lind could like. Maybe that was why he had just applied for a job at the Shadowford High School. It did not take long for the school to accept his application, especially with the high marks he had on his semi-forged documents.
In order to live on as Lind Herute, he recently restarted the system he used when he looked younger than he was. He had documents saying the college he went to (having the grades from his original class) and graduated in the year before last. So the school hired a 24 year old "human".
After the events in which Lind lost his partner Marute, he had changed. He wanted to use his powers for protecting people and not just killing them. This set him to know that he is an Angel, but others wouldn't know. It was his way of letting them know he was like them, or if the said person was a supernatural being, they would know he is an Angel, but that would further his reasoning for getting them to understand one another.
Lind had finally reached a place that meant something to him. This was the largest community in which he saw humans and supernatural beings living together in somewhat harmony. He liked the feeling he had gotten from this, as he was walking through the park. He was wearing black colored dress pants, with a light bluish gray dress shirt on, though the top button was not buttoned, and the sleeves were rolled up. The undershirt was a color of white, so as to actually give out the color of the shirt he was wearing.
The park was beautiful to him, since this was the first time he was actually able to admire the beauty of something like this in a while. His eyes wandered around him, until he saw something that looked like it was supposed to be full of living flowers. Naturally, he walked over and crouched to admire them. The entire little garden was supposed to be full of different colored roses. They happened to be his favorite flower. He could tell this from the small thorns on the stalks, and the way the petals had dried. I guess there hasn't been much water getting to them lately. he told himself in his mind.
He turned his head to look in different directions to make sure he couldn't be seen as he put his hand out, with his palm facing them. His eyes closed as in a split second, all of the flowers turned green again, all with different colored petals. That should do it. he thought to himself as he stood up, brushing off his knees, and stuck his hands in his pockets, and started to walk along the path again.

Meleny was on the other side of the park staring at something with glazed over eyes. She was looking at the memorials of the people who died 200 years ago in Shadowford Cove back when the horrible experiments were being performed. She hadn't wanted to come back after Carlow had gotten her out of there. She wanted to start anew. He told her that she was starting anew since there was no more laboratory. Her eyes were fixated on all the names. There was no one in here she knew since her grandfather's body wasn't recovered from the lab. There was no time since she was in the middle of becoming a full vampire.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard the sound of someone walking along the garden path. She turned around to see who it was. She might as well make herself seem alert so to avoid an accidental crash with the two of them. Her eyes immediately lit up and no longer appeared glazed over with pain when she noticed how handsome this other guy was. She smiled to herself and walked over to him. It couldn't hurt to introduce herself. "Hi. I'm Meleny."she said still smiling.
(ooc: sorry that wasn't much. I'm a bit rusty. I haven't roleplayed in a while.)

Lind had continued on his walk, noticing a sign that pointed in the direction towards the memorial site. Maybe, I could find out a bit about the people who used to be here. He thought as he took the turn that led him to where a memorial was going to be. As he walked forward, he looked ahead of himself and saw a girl standing in front of what looked to be the memorial. There were multiple plaques around the site.
The girl was standing in a single spot looking at a plaque, probably thinking of what they mean, or what they represent. Only something he could guess. But, why she is here doesn't matter. Everyone has their own reasons for doing things. He thought as he saw her turn around and look at him as he got closer. When he got close enough to her, that he could see her face, she spoke, introducing herself with a smile.
"Hello." he said as returning a smile of his own. One thing that he would always do, was let people see a happy side of him, so that they would also be happy. "Since you introduced yourself, I probably should too. Well, my name's Lind, Lind Herute." he added on, looking at the girl's face.
"If you don't mind me asking, do you know anything about this place, I'm sort of new here?" he asked while giving a brief glance at the memorial site.

Meleny's smile grew when she saw the male give a smile of his own. She tried to compose herself and appear normal while inside she turned into a puddle of goo just from seeing a guy smile back at her. "It's nice to meet you."she replied politely.
She listened to his question and glanced back at the memorial plaques. "I'm kind of new here too."she replied even though that wasn't exactly true. She kind of lived here when her grandfather was alive. "The only thing I know about this place is that it used to have a laboratory where horrible experiments were performed on um... other worldly creatures."she said nervously choking back some tears. "These memorial plaques are for people who died from those experiments. My grandfather was one of them but his body was never recovered from the lab. I couldn't take him out because I almost died too and my friend Dr. McKenna and his sister were more focused on getting us out of there than finding a safer place to bury my grandfather."she explained ignoring a tightness she felt in her chest. "I'm really sorry to dump all that on you. You asked and this place is more or less connected to my past."she explained as she tried really hard to hide the fact she was dangerously close to bursting into tears.

Lind looked at the young woman before him as she told him about what had happened in Shadowford so many years ago. He noticed that she had memories resurfacing, because as she spoke, it looked as though she was about to burst into tears. Lind's eyes opened wide a bit for a second as he saw her face after telling the story. Then he relaxed his face and gave a small smile as he looked closer at her face, realizing how beautiful she was.
"I'm sorry if this brought up any sad memories." Lind said with a caring face. He then stepped forward towards her, as he closed his eyes in thought for a moment, then opened them and looked at her. "Since this place must mean a lot to you, I should leave a token of good will in remembrance of those who died." he said as he reached into his sleeve, and pulled out a white rose, setting it down on the ground in front of the site.
"You know, if it is okay I would like to do something for you since you answered my question. But, since I still don't know the area around the park, I was thinking you could pick a food stall to go to, and I'll pay for a lunch or something, then we can sit in the park and get to know each other?" He added with a kind tone as he looked at her face, waiting for their eyes to meet.

Tiny tear tracks clung to her face but Meleny still managed a smile. "It's fine. Y-You had no way of knowing. You're new here so you didn't know. It's all right."she said. She watched as he pulled out a white rose from his sleeve. It seemed to come out of nowhere. "That's awfully kind of you. Thanks."she said.
Meleny was slightly taken aback by his question but very much flattered on the inside. It almost sounded as if he was asking her on a date which was completely crazy. No one asked a girl on a date after they just met whether the guy was in love or not. "I'd love that. Thanks for the kind offer."she said with a smile on her face as her eyes met with his. She tried to appear nonchalant about it but inside she was bursting with excitement

[OOC: The speech that is italic and colored navy/blue is Lind speaking to his other personality. Also, I would have said something like this earlier, but I am fine if you're a bit rusty at Rping, as long as you're enjoying yourself with this.]
When her eyes met his he felt something he had never really felt before. What is this I'm feeling? he thought as he continued looking at her. He looked at an object from the corner of his eyes, only to see a reflection of himself in the larger main memorial marker. His reflection moved on its own and looked at him. This person had silver eyes. "Fool, what you're feeling is the emotion of love." the reflection said to him. "How would you know, it isn't as if you felt it before Tsero." Lind replied in his thoughts. This was the way the two personalities would talk to each other. The two would talk through thoughts so that no one could hear them.
"Boy, don't judge me when you don't know me. I knew what it felt like, but that isn't what this is about. I'm just warning you because she is like you. She's not human." Tsero said with a grin that revealed his teeth. "I know that, but as we both know, we want to follow our emotions. So that is what I'm going to do." Lind replied to Tsero as he refocused his eyes on Meleny.
"So, please lead us on to where you would like to go." Lind stated with a smile at Meleny, before he turned to look down the path as he waited for her to lead them to where they would go. Though, he was still wondering why his heart was beating this quickly, as he had just met this girl.

(I am enjoying myself)
Meleny started to lead the male down the path. As she walked she thought about what she would like to eat. She was also wondering what kind of creature he was. She knew that Shadowford Cove was full of all sorts of other wordly creatures. But this particular one was intriguing. He was too beautiful and handsome to be a human. Of course humans were known to be attractive too but it was as if his handsomeness was pulling her in like a magnet. It was almost the way it was with vampires and their inviting looks to lure humans into a false sense of security. In a way that's how it was when she looked at Lind. His eyes were so gorgeous that she could drown in them if she looked into them too long. The list of things that made him perfect in her eyes could go on forever.
Slowly Meleny came to her senses. Now was not the time to be thinking like a teenage girl. Even though she may look like one she was actually over 200 years old in vampire years. Besides, she had to focus on what was happening now. Getting to know this lovely new male. "Well, here we are. How about we share french fries? A veggie burger would also be good. I'm not a big fan of eating meat. I have this thing about treating living beings with cruelty. It doesn't sit well with me."she explained. She blushed with embarrassment. What if he was a meat eater?

Lind saw Meleny start walking down the path, so he followed next to her, matching her pace. As the two walked down the path he looked over towards the girl who he was walking with. When he turned away, he saw a picture in his mind of a winged person with silver eyes looking at him. "Lind, I know we have to get along with each other, so you can quit trying to ignore me." Tsero stated at Lind through their thoughts. "Tsero, you are always butting in when you're not needed. So, do you think you could possibly let me be this once?" Lind question back, which got a look of approval from Tsero.
When the image disappeared he realized the two had reached a food stall. He heard Meleny say what she wanted, while explaining that she didn't really like meat because she didn't believe that living beings should be treated cruelly, after which she blushed. Lind gave a kind smile and ordered what she had asked for. "I can understand that feeling of not wanting to eat meat." Lind said as he looked at her, then reached into his pocket for his wallet, which he opened and pulled out the amount of money for the items of food.
The vendor then handed the two dishes to Lind, as he turned to face Meleny. "When I lived at the orphanage I would eat anything I could get my hands on, but after I left, I didn't feel right eating the meat of other creatures." He said as he lead her away from the stall to a small crossroad of all the paths. "So, would you like to pick a place to sit?" Lind asked as he looked at her face with his normal expression.

Meleny smiled at him again as she walked with him away from the stalls. She was glad he understood. "Good. I wasn't sure if you were a meat eater like some people generally are. My father and sister, for example, they love to eat meat."she explained. She found a park bench close to a trash can to throw out the garbage when they were done. "Is here all right with you? It's close to a garbage can so we don't have to walk far to get rid of trash."she remarked. As she waited for him to reply she remembered something he said earlier about living at an orphanage. "A minute ago you said you lived at an orphanage. I hope it's not terribly presumptous and tactless of me to ask but how did you end up there? I'll understand if whatever happened is too painful for you to talk about."she said kindly.

Lind followed her to the bench, when she asked if it was alright to sit there. "Yeah, that's fine." he answered as he sat down on the bench. As he sat, she asked him about how he had ended up in the orphanage. This caused him to slightly grin, as he remembered how he had ended up in the orphanage, while he handed the veggie burger to her.
"Well, I remember that when I was around four or five, I asked the nuns running the orphanage about my parents. They replied that they didn't know. This kept going on until I turned eighteen, at which they gave me a letter explaining it. The letter said that I had been left on their doorstep to be put into their care. But by that time I had stopped caring and was about to head out into the world on my own." he answered her while he looked into the sky. "So, if you don't mind my asking, what brings you to Shadowford?" he asked as he looked back at her.

Meleny took the veggie burger from him and listened to his explanation on how he ended up in the orphanage. "Oh, I thought it would be some horrible story where something bad happened to your parents. My understanding of children in orphanages is that they're sent there if their parents die when they're very young."she stated.
She unwrapped the veggie burger and took a bite while he was looking at the sky. As she swallowed it she heard him speak up again. "I'm not originally from here. I'm from Italy but my grandfather Elias Aldridge lived here. I was half of what I am now back then. Anyway, my grandfather was teaching me archery and how to handle weapons if I ever get attacked. After he died, I continued my weapons lessons with my other grandfather who was named Jeremy. Elias was my mother's father. After the cruel experiments stopped, I didn't want to come back to Shadowford ever again because of the memories. But, my friend Dr. McKenna convinced me to return. He believed with all his heart that it would be safer here from now one. Besides, my grandmother--Elias' wife still lives in his old house. I decided I should be there for her."she explained as she thought of her grandmother Felicity. She was getting on in age since she was a human and missed her husband very much. She had to look after her as much as possible because she was fragile.

(Sorry for the long wait, I was busy with things in school that I had to finish and couldn't get to writing.)
"It seems that you have quite the history of this place." Lind stated, then thought for a moment and added, "Also, as I believe it, it takes both a courageous and kind person to come back to a place that they didn't like, only to look after a person in need." He stated as he looked at her face. "Many things have happened in my life, both tragic and not, but I don't dwell on my past, I rather focus on the future. Which in a way, is why I am here." he added, as his eyes gave a distinction of looking a lot older than they really were.
"Lind. I hope you don't even think about stating our past to this unknown girl. For all we know she could be in league with those who knew us." Tsero said as he appeared in his mind again, this time with his arms crossed. "Tsero, I would be feeling something if she knew us by now. Is there some reason why you have been paranoid about something like that since we came here." Lind retorted as he blocked out Tsero's image.
"Well, I came to Shadowford recently, actually I arrived two days again. I had heard about this place through some job advertisements. So, I decided to come here and teach, as I like to do." He stated as he gave a slight grin.

(it's ok)
Meleny smiled when he mentioned how brave and kind of her it was to return to take care of her aging grandmother. "That's good you'e focusing on the future."she replied distracted by the aged ook in his eyes. The only time she ever saw someone look older than they were was if they were haunted by something. He probably had terrible demons in his past that created this look. When Meleny falls in love with a person (even though this is the first time) the one thing in the world she hates more than her father and sister is seeing the person she loves in pain. "oh, what do you teach?"she asked although what she really wanted to ask why he came to Shadowford. She was curious but she thought it might be tactless of her to ask such a personal question. However, she thought it was only fair. He asked her and she told her the horrid tales of her past.

He listened to the question that Meleny had asked him. "Well, I can teach two subjects. My preferred subject is English, or literature, and the other subject is mathematics." He answered while giving more of a happy smile. "Literature is my favorite subject because it gives one the opportunity to express themselves, which I believe is a way for people to understand one another." he added.
"If you have anymore questions to ask, go ahead. I've asked enough questions, and got answers, so I might as well give you a chance to ask more questions." he said as he kept his attitude up and cheery. He had had enough of sitting through life only having one real person to talk too.
